Wildseer is a wildlife travel guide published at wildseer.com. The site is operated by Frazer Wood, trading as Wildseer, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

What we collect, and why
Wildseer has no accounts, no logins, no newsletter and no shop. We collect very little.
- Analytics. If you consent, Google Analytics 4 records how you use the site: pages viewed, roughly where in the world you are, the device and browser you use, and how you arrived. This helps us work out which guides are useful and which are not. If you do not consent, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected.
- Cookies and similar storage. Some are strictly necessary for the site and consent record to work. Others, including analytics, are only set after you agree. The full list, with names, purposes and durations, is in our Cookie Policy.
- Your consent choice. When you answer the cookie banner your answer is stored in your own browser so we do not ask again on every page. That record stays on your device; we do not hold a copy of it.
- Server logs. Our host records IP addresses and requests for security and for keeping the site running. This is ordinary technical logging, it happens on every website, and we rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available.
- Anything you send us. If you email us we hold that email and our reply so we can deal with what you asked.
We do not sell your data. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not share your data with anyone who is not listed below.
Our lawful bases
- Consent for analytics and any non-essential cookies. You can withdraw it at any time and it is as easy to refuse as it is to accept.
- Legitimate interests for server logging, security and preventing abuse. We have considered your rights and this is what any website has to do to stay online.
- Legal obligation for keeping records of consent.
Who else is involved
These are the services that may process data on our behalf or receive data as a result of you using the site.
- Hostinger, our web host. Server logs and site data.
- Google, for Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console. Analytics only runs with your consent. Search Console reports on how the site appears in Google results and does not track you individually.
- Complianz, the consent management tool that records your cookie choice.
- Wordfence, security, which processes IP addresses to block attacks.
- Affiliate partners such as GetYourGuide and Viator. If you click a booking link you leave Wildseer and their own privacy policy applies from that moment. We may receive a commission on a booking, at no extra cost to you. We are told that a booking happened, not who you are.
Some of these providers are outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by the safeguards those providers put in place, such as standard contractual clauses or an approved adequacy framework.
How long we keep things
- Analytics data: retained in Google Analytics for the retention period set in that account, and only if you consented.
- Consent records: kept while they are the evidence of your current choice, and refreshed when you are asked again.
- Server and security logs: kept for a short period by our host and security provider, in line with their own policies.
- Emails: kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter, then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what happened before.

You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time using the preferences link in the site footer.
Complaining
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator, at any time.

Children
Wildseer is written for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we do not direct the site at them.

No operator pays to appear on Wildseer and none ever will, and we do not recommend any attraction or operator whose animal welfare record is in question.
